River Thames (E14)

On the 07 January 2017, at the River Thames, near St Katherine’s Way E14, a decomposed the body of a white European male was found on the foreshore between President Quay and St Katherine Pier in the river Thames. The unidentified E14 man was aged between 45 – 55 and of medium build, he stood at around 175cm – 177cm (5 ft 8 ins – 5 ft 9 ins) tall with size 8 feet and had short dark greying hair with a full beard.

For over 7 years now many people have tried to obtain the identity of the E14 man with no success and although the E14 man had many tattoo’s which are classed as secondary identifiers no one seems to recognise him, leaving him buried without his lawful name and his family not knowing where he may be.
The unknown male possessed a pair of nail clippers and an oyster card suggesting he may have travelled across London via the tube. If you or anyone you know work in the underground, please share this appeal with them, talk about the case and come up with a theory on what type of person the E14 man was.

The E14 man also had clothing on suggesting he was keeping warm, such as a woollen hat and woollen gloves, was this due to the weather or could this indicate the unknown male was sleeping rough? personally I think it’s due to the cold weather meaning the E14 man may have entered the water in the autumn or winter months. He also layered clothing such as his Pale coloured ‘Next’ t-shirt size Medium, paired with the dark coloured tweed quarter zip Jumper, and his two jackets including the brown Jacket with fur lined hood. Again clothing more appropriate to the weather than I would say sleeping rough.
While some of the E14 mans tattoos may come across as generic, the combination and location of the tattoos should ring a bell with somebody, a sun, scorpion, dragon, cross, dagger, kingfisher, and generic tribal tattoo should be the winning combination to identify the E14 man.

Where did he get the tattoos done? Could a tattoo artist recognise these tattoos, or are they non-professional tattoos?

Did the tattoos have meaning to him, like for instance, the scorpion tattoo could indicate that the unknown male may have a scopio star sign, meaning he would have been born between October 23 to November 21.

The E14 man had distinctive trainers and you would think it would be easy to identify someone via their shoes, but can you think about what trainers your friend was wearing last? Give it a go, guess in your head and the next time you see them, see if you are right.

The E14 man also seems somewhat religious or has respect for the Catholic or Christian religion by having two different crosses tattooed on his body.

The Kingfisher tattoo, which is not pictured also may give us an insight into the E14 mans identity, could he have been a bird lover, is it a reference to something else?

Some of the tattoos seam very blue and different to the tribal tattoo found between the E14 mans shoulder blades, could the sun, red cross and scorpion tattoos indicate the male may have had a unprofessional tattoo, maybe they were done in prison?

There are many questions still unanswered and when I go through these cases they generate more questions but there is always one questions that we all find the most important and that is, who is he?
Do you live in or near Greater London (E14)or know anyone who does? If so, share my appeal and put up a poster, it would mean the world to me.
What is your theory on the E14’s mans identity? Do you think he is British, or maybe even Irish? or maybe he is from another European country altogether. Scroll to the bottom of this page and let me know in the comments.
