Case number: 07-027331

When I research cases, I normally find old newspaper articles relating to the case I am searching. Some cases are reported on more than others but these cases from the 60s, managed by the Met police at the time, have no recorded newspaper articles online.

The oldest river cases I have recorded in my database all come from the met police and seem to lack a shocking amount of detail.

A number of details stuck out to me on this case, firstly, we have an eye colour. Eyes are one of the first things to decompose on a deceased body, which indicates the body was not in the water for very long.

So I searched for missing men around that time. I could not find any relevant, although the description in this case is vague to begin with but we do have an age, which is 37. I am quite unsure as to why there is a precise age, but this again is another similarity I found with these cases reported by the met police in the 60s.

I did find this article and I could not find any resolution to the search for Mr Leslie Wilshaw who was a holiday maker and had left his suitcase and watch in the George Hotel he was staying at in Leek.

While the above article is not designed to be a clue as it would be very far fetched to think the first article that popped up is the Unidentified Chelsea Bridge Man but it does show that police did do appeals during the 60s and I did find other reports of unidentified people being recovered from the Thames and other Rivers in the 60s.

But what are your theories? let me know in the comments.

Please be advised this case will be updated when I have further information.
