Case number: 06-024629

Location: Kiveachy Moor, Aviemore, Moray, Scotland

Unidentified skeletal remains found on Kiveachy Moor on the 30th July 1970 which has remained unsolved for over 55 years.

With unidentified missing persons cases public information can become lost media and the mystery of these cases deepen which make them even more mysterious and we all love a good mystery and I am wondering if there are any locals who want to join me in trying to identify this unknown male that was somehow dressed like Hercule Poirot in waterproofs. The police found a gun wrapped in plastic and a pocket knife on his person along with numerous other items, including a ronson cigarette lighter, Senior Service cigarette packet, a pair a glasses with a case, a haversack messenger bag.

Some of the unidentified males personal belongings seem to originate from Germany but no passport or papers were found at the scene.

Speaking of the scene, we have no images showing where the undientified male was found which doesn’t really help with public appeals, because we need some images or something to present this story to attract more people in the hopes of finding this mans name.

I love to spitball ideas on what type of person this man was, and my current running theory is that he was on his way to bury or hide his Walther automatic pistol no. 875412 wrapped in green plastic. I believe he may be of German decent and I believe he either worked in the police force or other similar proffesion. I also think the unidentified male served either in the police force or other services in Germany or Europe around 1936 but no missing persons cases matching this males description seem to exist.

I have searched the British newspaper archive and can find no news reports relating to the discovery or any appeals in relation to this case which could hold vital information that has been lost over time and this is where you lovely lot come in, I need a UNIDENTIFIED MISSING PERSONS HERO to search the local newspaper archives in the local library (If there is one) to see if they can find any articles relating to this case.

Maybe you remember an older relative talking about this case?, could you pick their brain and see what they thought of the discovery? We might even be able to find the officers assigned to the case and see what they remember. Could you contact local hotels or share this with local hotels or b&bs to see if they have any record or memory of this case. You can share it with your local newspaper and friends to see what they think. Ask your friends and family about other historic missing persons cases to see if we can find a match. All of these actions push this case to be seen by more people, giving it more of a chance of being solved.

Although I have wrote this post with some whit, the main goal of my enquiry is to solve this case so we can finally give this man his name back. I believe everyone deserves that, and if we can remove this case by solving it, we can then move onto other cases, reducing the amount of public spending on the reviews of these cases and releasing funding to help search for other missing people.

We don’t have any facial reconstructions or busts to visualise this mans face but we do have other information that may help identify him.
