Case Number: 05-019516

I have done it again, this time it’s another case straight from 1981 and another face I can shae with the public in the hopes to finally give this man his name back.

When most people are found deceased, police can use a number of skills to identify the person they are searching for, but sadly sometimes the police reach out to the public because they have utilised as many resources as they can and can find no solid leads to their inquiries. That’s where we, the public come in to it. We have to use our free time, and our skills to help find new leads and finally close the case. Sometimes there is not much else to do other than to share a case with your friends and to tell their stories but sometimes we come accross a case that can do with our magic touch. We can find lost media (images, videos), information and new clues to help jog peoples memories. We can share faces, that haven’t been shared for years and hopefully show people what the power of the internet really means. So read on if you too would like to help solve a case, by doing one simple thing that all unsolved cases need, and that is share this case!

So we head back to Tuesday 5th May 1981, along a towpath near the Grand Union Canal, Ealing. A young man staggered along the path swigging from a bottle. Passerbys noted the man seemed drunk.

Sadly the next day, Wednesday 6th May 1981, the unidentified males body was found in Grand Union Canal. Nearby a bottle of Vodka was found, and police suspected this belonged to the man.

The unidentified man was described as White european, of medim build, standing at 5 ft 10 ins tall, and around 25-33 years old. He had a scar on his lower right abdomen and had ginger hair, a full beard and brown eyes.

We also know he wore a duffle coat, a polo neck jumper, a cotton shirt and a pair of jeans.
