It was Thursday the 29th of May 2025 when the body of a young Afro Caribbean male washed upon the shoreline between the Royal Esplanade in Margate and St Mildreds Bay, Westgate-On-Sea.

Sadly nearly a year on, we are no closer to finding out where this man came from but we do have a number of clues to release in the hopes it might remind somebody of someone they know.

The Clues we have so far!

The unidentified male was,

• Afro Caribbean
• 15 – 35 years old
• Of medium Build
• around 5ft 7 ins – 5ft 8 ins
• Short Black Hair
• Tattoo of unknown symbol behind left ear

Police have searched a number of databases and the young man doesn’t match any registered missing persons cases and they are now looking to the public to help identify this man.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 7.49pm on Thursday 29 May to a report of a body in the sea near St Mildred’s Bay, Westgate-On-Sea.

“Officers attended the scene alongside the Kent Fire and Rescue Service and (HM Coastguard Margate), where the body of a man was recovered.

“Enquiries are underway to identify the deceased. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage and a report will be completed for the coroner.”

He is someones loved one, someone out there misses him and I need to get his name to lay him to rest and let his family know he has passed.

Please remember, in cases like this, they can be very sensitive and it may not be ideal to report on resolved cases if families want privacy although I endevour to always update you when I can.

Circumstances

Unknown male found deceased on 29/05/2025 shore line of Westgate Bay near to Barnes Car park. Deceased is a black male aged 15yrs-35yrs, 5ft8″ tall, medium build, short buzz cut hair, no facial hair, no clothing, no items/jewellery, no marks, no scars.
