Case Number: 23-001464
Blank Case Number: 458

At 3:42am on Wednesday 14th December 2022
a “private fishing vessel” known as the “Arcturus” came into contact with a dinghy which had a motor attached. The dinghy was taking on water and sinking badly. It seemed the pilot of the boat had steered the Dihngy towards the vessel in an attempt to help rescue the other passengers. When the passengers stood up, the bottom of the boat collapsed. The pilot of the dihngy was IBRAHIMA BAH aged 19 years old at the time. Sadly the dihngy contained over 40 people, 39 people were rescued with 4 being pronounced deceased between the hours of 6:22am and 11:24am.

Todays case involves that of a male who still remains unidentified, it is thought he may be Afghanis, aged 30 – 60 years old, Black Hair, Full Black Beard, and brown eyes.

The missing persons unit has few details on this case but there is a sensitive image on the site that could potentially help identify the unidentified male.

The image itself is not good for AI editing as it is a side profile, maybe some photoshop editing may clean up the imaage to make it more sanitary for the public. Front profile pictures work best for this, even if the eyes are closed. I like to ask AI to open the eyes and close the mouth, AI will generally clean up the image, but make too many edits and it turns into someone else completely, so sadly I cannot edit this image for public use.

There are no distinguishing features, tattoos, scars or marks. Which makes it harder to pinpoint who it might be.

The boat itself was described as “wholly unstable” at an inquest held later that month, with the inquest being suspended until police had done their investigation. This is where the story takes a turn for the better, unlike other cases, it has been difficult for police to hold those responsible due to lack of information, public assistance and laws to cover such thing but this case set a president.

The details agreed upon in court tells of a horrible story of vulnerable people committing immigration and life endangering crimes to gain an advantage or a better life. I read the full judgement on my channel and I found it compelling to read, there are no defined heroes, only people commiting criminal acts that put themselves and others in danger only to end up trying to save one another. In the end 4 lives were lost and IBRAHIMA BAH’s life destoryed for a mast majority of it because he wanted to gain what now seems a small advantage. Living here…

The home office publicly celebrated when Ibrahima Bah was found guilty of four counts of gross negligence manslaughter and one of facilitating a breach of immigration law. This case has now set a standard on cause and causation when steering migrant boats accross the channel. Insuring that legal capability is applied to those who steer these boats.

With this case involving undocumented travel into the UK, it is not known how many were on board of the dihngy but it was reported that it is possible two of them were Afghanis, while the other two were of Senegalese heritage.
